Mild springs, scorching summers, sunny winters with cool nights: what to know to pick the best time for your stay.
Marrakech can be visited all year round, but each season offers a different city. Here is how to choose.
Spring (March to May): the ideal season
Warm but not excessive days, gardens in bloom, the Atlas peaks still snow-capped on the horizon: this is the most pleasant time to mix the medina, excursions and afternoons by the pool. It is also a busy period, so book early.
Summer (June to August): heat and lazy days
Temperatures often exceed 35 °C and can climb well beyond in July and August. Life follows the local rhythm: outings early in the morning or late in the day, and long hours in the shade of the olive trees, close to the water. This is the season when a private pool really makes sense.
Autumn (September to November): gentle weather returns
The heat eases, the light turns golden and the city catches its breath. September is still warm; October and November are perfect for hiking in the Atlas and evenings in the Agafay desert.
Winter (December to February): sunshine and cool nights
Days are often sunny and mild, but nights can be cold. Bring a jumper for the evening. The snow-covered Atlas offers its finest views, and the festive season draws many travellers.
Our advice
For a stay balanced between sightseeing and rest, aim for spring or autumn. If you mainly want to enjoy the lodge and the pool, summer has its charm, as long as you accept the heat. Whatever the season, plan your outings around the most pleasant hours.
