Riad in the medina, Palmeraie hotel or private villa in the countryside? What a villa with its own pool changes for a stay in Marrakech.
In Marrakech, travellers often hesitate between three ways to stay: a riad in the heart of the medina, a large hotel or a private villa. Each has its strengths. Here is what the last one brings.
The privacy of a home
A private villa is a place all your own: no neighbours on the next sunbed, no fixed schedules. You swim when you like, have lunch on your terrace, read in the shade without meeting anyone. For couples and families alike, it is the simplest form of luxury.
A pool of your own
Under the Marrakech sun, the pool is the centre of the day, especially from May to September. Having your own changes everything: no need to claim a sunbed at dawn, and children can play without disturbing anyone.
A kitchen to live at your own pace
With a private kitchen, you can prepare a snack, keep drinks cold or cook produce bought at the market. And when you do not feel like it, you can have a meal delivered.
Why the countryside
The medina is fascinating, but dense and lively. In the countryside, you find silence, space and views of the Atlas, while keeping the city within reach for sightseeing. It is the best of both worlds: the energy of Marrakech by day, the calm of the olive trees by night.
